Caryl Churchill

(1938-), Playwright

Sitter in 3 portraits
Playwright. Churchill, whose work had been championed by artistic director Max Stafford-Clark, and was resident dramatist at the Royal Court in 1974-5, is possibly the most constant of the Royal Court's playwrights. She has had more work premier there than any other writer, including Owners, Cloud Nine (1979), Top Girls (1982), Serious Money (1987), Far Away (2000), directed by Stephen Daldry, and A Number (2002).
