Rock singer Gabriel co-founded the band, Genesis, while at school and remained lead singer until leaving in 1975 to pursue solo career. His subsequent hits include Sledgehammer (1986), written for the score to Martin Scorsese's controversial film The Last Temptation of Christ (1988). As a humanitarian activist, he received the Man of Peace award from the Nobel Peace Prize Laureates.
