(1946-), Singer and actressSitter in 24 portraits
Marianne Faithfull began her career as a pop star at the age of 17 under the guidance of the Rolling Stones' manager, Andrew Loog Oldham. Her first major success was the Jagger-Richards composition As Tears Go By (1964) followed by three 1965 top ten records including Come and Stay With Me and This Little Bird (both 1965) Between 1966 and 1970 her career was overshadowed by her relationship with Mick Jagger which was relentlessly followed by the international press. After a break from singing Faithfull re-emerged in 1979 with punk-influenced album Broken English and top 50 hit The Ballad of Lucy Jordan. Her films include Girl on a Motorcycle (1969).
