Architect, born in London. Chipperfield was trained at the Architectural Association; he worked at the practices of Douglas Stephen, Richard Rogers and Norman Foster before establishing his own practice, David Chipperfield, Architects, in 1984. He has offices in London, Berlin, Milan, the U.S. and China. Chipperfield designed the award-winning River and Rowing Museum in Henley-on-Thames; he also designed the Figge Art Museum in Davenport, Iowa.
