Björk Gudmundsdóttir, the Icelandic singer-songwriter, composer, actress and music producer first came to prominence as the lead singer of the pop group The Sugarcubes. After the band's split in 1992, Björk moved to London to pursue a solo career. She began a working relationship with producer Nellee Hooper and in 1993 released her first album Debut. Post followed in 1995, also in conjunction with Hooper and musicians Tricky, Graham Massey and Howie B. She played the lead role in the musical Dancer In The Dark (2000).
