Andy Serkis

Serkis began his career under theatre director Jonathan Petherbridge at the Duke's Playhouse, Lancaster. He is particularly known for his role as Gollum in Peter Jackson's epic film trilogies The Lord of the Rings (2001-3) and The Hobbit (2012-14), adapted from the novels by J.R.R. Tolkein. Serkis's Bafta-nominated roles include Ian Brady in the television film Longford (2006) and Ian Dury in the biopic Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll (2009).
